Dental Cleanings & Preventive Care in Marietta – West Cobb
There is nothing better than a clean, shiny smile!
Dental cleanings are not only a way to keep your teeth looking great, they also are an important part of maintaining your oral health.
During your cleaning visit, Dr. Caceres will examine your teeth, gums and soft tissues for signs of decay, gum disease or unusual changes. He may recommend necessary digital X-rays to see tooth and bone structures that are not visible to the human eye.
We recommend that you have your teeth cleaned two to four times per year, based on the condition of your teeth and gums. This is a smart investment – early detection of oral health problems can help you avoid more costly dental procedures.
Other preventive measures that you can take to protect your family’s dental health include:
Home Care. Proper brushing and flossing is the first line of defense against disease-causing oral bacteria. We recommend that patients brush and floss at least twice per day. For children too young to brush, parents should brush their teeth for them using a small soft bristle toothbrush moistened with water – avoid toothpaste until your child is old enough to understand not to swallow it; fluoride can upset their stomach if ingested.
Sealants are a great way to protect the tiny grooves in children’s teeth from decay-causing bacteria and sugars. A special plastic coating is painted over the surface of the tooth and hardened using a bright light – no drilling necessary!
We enjoy seeing patients of all ages and have lots of great dental care tips to share with you and your family! We invite you to Contact Us to schedule your next dental cleaning with our dental family.
